“Yes, James, both of those things are true. I will be certain to point out similar examples from the left… nothing would make me happier.”
Great Jim, I’ll keep checking back from time to time to see how that’s going. This might help get you started:

“And while you’re correct that there’s plenty of substantive criticism on the right, it is also true that many of those providing it are being criticized by the far more popular Beck/Limbaugh/Hannity wing for not being conservative enough.”
So… there IS substantive criticism after all, but “such and such” is critical of it. Could I move you even further by pointing out that you can find a critic for everything?

Prompted by this article, I wrote the American Medical Association about it. Here’s the response I received from them:
Statement attributable to: American Medical Association
“The American Medical Association is profoundly disappointed in the lack of professionalism and poor judgment evidenced by Dr. McKalip’s actions in circulating a racist caricature of President Obama. His actions have not only harmed the reputation of the AMA, but the medical profession as a whole.
“Make no mistake, the AMA does not tolerate racist or discriminatory behavior in any form. Delegates to the AMA are selected through their individual state and specialty societies, and their individual views and actions do not, in any way, represent the official view of the AMA.
“While the AMA is pleased Dr. McKalip issued an apology to President Obama, his actions remain hurtful, disrespectful and inexplicable.”

This so utterly ridiculous. When people have nothing original to add to a discussing this is the result.

Whether someone on the right or the left does this kind of thing is wrong. To say “This is what now substitutes for substantive criticism on the right” is also wrong. There is substantive criticism from the right and it isn’t hard to find.

That’s really in poor taste. They couldn’t come up with anything better than that?…..
