I could attach it to my new fat Mac, the one-drive wonder that set me back the outrageous sum of $2795 and it might have done some significantly awesome black and white graphics with MacPaint, one of the two programs it ran, but the laser printer was still an embryo in a university lab somewhere.

I’m a HUGE fan of HGTV. I secretly want to be an interior designer, but that’s another blog post for another day — and probably another blog. Any whooooo…
I had the pleasure of luxuriating while watching a special program on HGTV Sunday evening called, “A Man Named Pearl”. Essentially, it is the story of Pearl Fryar, a man who has done extraordinary things with his property in one of the poorest, and by the county’s inhabitant’s own admission, still noticably segregated, counties in South Carolina.

Here I was skating with black people mostly, but everyone really, a rainbow of people, and we were all flying together. We were a graceful flock of swallows, all soaring one way, then the other — swaying in unison — lifted together by the music and singing our hearts out. Flying was our form of prayer and our hope for the future and this was our anthem:
